JAC and Grădinariu at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover: what we showed and what comes next
IAA Transportation is Europe's most important commercial vehicle show, held every two years in Hannover. The 2026 edition ran from 15 to 20 September, and Grădinariu was there with JAC Motors in Hall 12, Stand C08.
Four electrified models on the JAC stand
JAC Motors came to Hannover with four electrified models, officially announced by the manufacturer:
- the Sunray PRO, an electric van with an 83.66 kWh CATL battery, 348 km of WLTP range and 10 to 80% charging in 34 minutes;
- the N90 EV, an electric truck with a 100.46 kWh CATL battery, a 180 kW, 550 Nm e-axle and GSR II compliant active safety systems;
- the N42 EV, the city distribution truck, with a 360° camera, tyre pressure monitoring and an 8-year or 400,000 km battery warranty;
- the T9 PHEV, a plug-in hybrid pickup with more than 100 km of electric range and 3,500 kg of towing capacity.
The stand theme: "We Deliver"
The stand concept started from a simple idea: an electric truck is worth as much as the application it carries. That is why we focused on the breadth of the range, on how many different jobs the same chassis can do: a curtain-sided box with a tail lift for distribution, a refrigerated box for the cold chain, but also a refuse collector, a tipper, a hooklift or a water sprinkler for municipal services.
The JAC N42 EV trucks on display were bodied in Romania by Grădinariu. That is the difference we bring as a distributor: we do not just sell the chassis, we deliver the vehicle configured, bodied and type-approved, ready to work.
Why it matters for fleets in Romania
For a fleet operator, IAA is where you see where the market is heading over the next two years. The conclusion of the 2026 edition is clear: the electric distribution truck and the electric municipal truck are no longer prototypes but series products, with ranges and charging times that cover a working day in the city.
