Romenvirotec 2026: what city halls and sanitation operators look for in an electric truck
Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec is Romania's main trade fair for environmental protection, waste management and green energy. The 2026 edition took place from 3 to 5 March at Romexpo, in Pavilions B1 and B2, with more than 15,000 visitors and 250 exhibiting companies, on twice the floor space of the previous year. The organiser is Euroexpo Fairs, with the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests and the Association of Romanian Municipalities among its partners. This year's edition also welcomed a delegation of 100 mayors from the Republic of Moldova.
The themes of the fair, namely waste and water management, smart city, circular economy and sustainable cities, are exactly the themes we work in. So it is worth spelling out what is asked of a municipal vehicle today.
Three questions that come up in every conversation
The first is about range: is it enough for a shift? On a collection or street cleaning route, the answer is yes. Routes are short and fixed, and the vehicle charges overnight at the depot.
The second is about cost. The purchase price of an electric truck is higher, but the cost per kilometre and maintenance are lower, and dedicated funding exists for clean vehicles. The right calculation covers the whole service life, not the purchase invoice.
The third is about the body and service: who builds it, who gets it approved, who repairs it? This is where a local supplier makes the difference. At Grădinariu, the JAC chassis, the body, RAR type approval and service all come from the same place.
What fits on a JAC electric chassis
On the JAC N42 EV, N75 EV and N90 chassis we build refuse collectors, tippers, tankers, vacuum tankers, sweepers, crane platforms and emergency vehicles. The configurator on this site shows every option on every model.
The next edition
Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec 2027 is announced for 2-4 March 2027, again at Romexpo. Until then, JAC electric trucks can be seen and tested with us in Bucharest.
